Jaskaran Singh Gandhi will next be seen as Aarav in Sara Khan’s Choices under her home production Sara Khan creation , which is all set to stream digitally from November 21 onwards. He said, “The script, story, and beautiful characterization are what got me excited. I am portraying the role of Aarav; besides this, if I give out any more details, it will take the surprise elements away. When Sara called Ridhiema and shared the synopsis as always, Ridhiema asked me to go through it."
“I was pleasantly surprised as Tara and Aarav's story is almost borderline close to the real-life story of Ridhiema and Jas, so we both could completely relate to it, hence said an immediate yes to Sara and came on board,” he added.
He mentioned that in movies men are often very easily judged and are hardly given the benefit of doubt, and that separates Choices from other movies. He also shared that he has tried to keep Aarav's emotions as real as possible and tried to bring out the vulnerability of a man, which he has personally experienced in life.
“The whole myth of men don't cry; men don't show their emotions or should not let others know how they feel is something that I have never understood. I have not suppressed any emotions to look strong or actually cared about 'ki log kya sochegay',” he said.
Having done a movie like Sam Bahadur, Jaskaran said that the movie was based on true events, and his upbringing in an army family gave him an idea about the character he played in the movie. However, with Choices, he said it is a fictional film, and therefore there was scope for making a few changes in the scenes while shooting and adapting to the dialogues accordingly.
“In Sam Bahadur, we had to adhere to the script and live the discipline of a soldier. But in Choices, what happened in Aarav's life is somewhat similar to what I have experienced. It was a walk down memory lane, but yes, there were certain scenes where I had to dig into certain events from my past to bring out the right emotions, which kind of took a toll on me. Overall, it has been a beautiful experience,” he ended.
